The Ontario government has announced they are scrapping the lottery system for cannabis shop permits to allow more cannabis retail stores to open in January, in an effort to combat the black market and provide more choice for consumers. Opening up retail market is projected to boost cannabis sales across Ontario significantly over the next 12 months.
CTV News reported, In a news release issued Thursday, Attorney General Doug Downey said that opening the cannabis market in Ontario as “responsibly” as possible has always been the government’s “number one priority.” (CTV News)
